Open Positions at CJ America Inc. 1) Research Analyst in New Business Development 2) Manager in New Business Development 1) Research Analyst in NBD The Research Analyst in New Business Development(NBD) is responsible for assisting the deal sourcing and research of new business investment opportunities across the various industries. Position Title: Research Analyst in New Business Development FLSA Status: Exempt Job Type: Full-time Pay range: $60K to $90K depending on the work experience Responsibilities • Research and monitor trends, technologies, innovations, and startups across relevant sectors • Assist with deal sourcing and screening (organize and attend calls/meetings, prepare meeting summaries, update and maintain deal log) as well as due diligence and deal execution (research, analysis, diligence meetings, prepare reports) • Interpret, analyze and synthesize information to produce reports and presentations with high level of sophistication and quality • Work independently as well as in a supportive function to assist other members of the team on research projects and investment opportunities as needed • Other responsibilities assigned from time to time Skills and Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or other relevant fields • Minimum of 5 years’ overall professional experience with at least 2 years’ experience in venture investing, strategy consulting, investment banking, or corporate development • Familiarity with business models, financials, and venture investment deal structures • Familiarity with food, media & entertainment, or biotechnology industries • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail • Korean language skills (oral and written) highly preferred 2) Manager in New Business Development The Manager in New Business Development(NBD) is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new business investment opportunities in various industry sectors. Position Title: Manager in New Business Development FLSA Status: Exempt Job Type: Full-time Pay range: Starting from $100K/year Responsibilities • Monitor trends, themes, technologies, and innovations and synthesize their impact on CJ’s businesses as well as the industry as a whole across a variety of sectors and topics such as food tech, biotech, digital media, e-commerce, etc. • Identify and develop relationships with relevant startup community stakeholders such as entrepreneurs and investors, and build a pipeline of potential partnership and investment opportunities • Manage the complete business development and/or investment process including sourcing, structuring, negotiation, diligence, execution, and post-deal management • Research, analyze and evaluate investment and/or business development opportunities and prepare reports for internal business leaders • Work collaboratively and persuasively across functions, teams, and business divisions to achieve objectives • Other responsibilities assigned from time to time Skills and Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or other relevant fields •MBA preferred • Minimum 5 years’ experience in venture investing, strategy consulting, investment banking, or corporate development • Solid understanding of business, business models, financials, and early-stage investment deal structures • Familiarity with food, media & entertainment, or biotechnology industries • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail • Korean language skills (oral and written) a plus |
